I waiting at our local java/cycling spot (Royal Coffee) for my 'crew' to arrive for our Sunday ride when Dave Zabriskie's girlfriend Randi walks up (she attends U.C. Berkeley) with Dave's mom and a friend.
David had just won the TT a few days earlier, and I said she must be very proud, of course she was!

David had become somewhat of a regular at my shop (Missing Link) while he lived in the area. I meet him and his girlfriend awhile ago at an event at Clifbar HQ. when he was still riding for Postal.
Funny, most of my co-workers didn't even know who he was, until I said something, then I told them about his solo brakeaway at the Vuelta last year and they go, "that guy"?
Dave's a pretty quiet, unassuming guy, but he's got a twisted sense of humor.
